British Gymnastics

We hope that your child enjoys their time at Wickers in whatever they have chosen to do.
We are sure they will learn a lot and have some fun.

We also provide opportunities for all gymnasts to gain British Gymnastics Badges, work towards our own club progressions and to enter our Club Championships. Some gymnasts will also be invited to participate in local, regional and national competition as well

The club also has a variety of competitive squads for girls and boys who compete at novice, intermediate, advanced and elite levels. Gymnasts may be invited to trial for a period of one month, after which the situation will be reviewed with the head coach, gymnast and their parent.

Fee Payment

Fees are payable on a half termly basis. A term at Wickers normally lasts between 6 and 8 weeks, every gymnast receives a fee card with the terms dates and fees.

Payment has to be made by the second week of each term. The Club cannot accept responsibility for monies not accounted for, therefore fees should be placed in an envelope with the childs name, session day and time on the front and the fee card should be put inside. Even if your child misses a session this still has to be paid for. The Club has administration and general running costs, and as a non profit making organisation each fee contributes towards this, the hire of the gym and the purchasing of new equipment. All coaches are volunteers. Please note that refunds will not be given once payment has been accepted.

Insurance

The Club is affiliated to British Gymnastics and is covered by their insurance policy. Every child in the gym must be a member of British Gymnastics, this membership covers them for every session they attend and also for any competitions or training sessions they may have at any other facility, whilst members of Wickers. Further information is available during your child's first week.

Dress Code

Every gymnast must be suitably dressed for his or her session.

We would ask that every member of Wickers Gymnastics Club purchases the club uniform. For girls it is a club leotard and for boys it is a Club t-shirt and black shorts. We would ask that you purchase uniform by your childs third week. Club sweatshirts and tracksuit bottoms are also available. For details please speak to one of the coaches.

If a gymnast is invited to join a squad, there is also a squad uniform which they will be expected to wear. Details will be provided by the squad coach.

Long hair must always be tied up. There should be no watches or jewellery worn by the gymnast.

Please also make sure that your child has been to the toilet before the start of every session, and is not chewing gum, or eating.

Session Times

All gymnasts should arrive on time and should be dropped off and collected by a responsible adult. No gymnasts will be allowed to leave the gym by themselves unless a responsible adult has spoken to the coach concerned.

Please note that parents are asked not to wait in the gym during their childs session, this is due to shortage of space and also the distraction it causes to the gymnast!

We do hold an annual Club Championships to which everyone is invited, so you are able to see the progress of your child.
